The Astros announced their organizational players of the month for July Tuesday. I have to wonder about the Lancaster offensive player of the month. Outfielder Jonathan Gaston received the award for the third month in a row. However, Koby Clemens had a far more productive month.
Take a look at the July numbers:
Gaston, 111 ABs, .243 BA, one double, five triples, 11 home runs, and 21 RBI
Clemens, 114 ABs, .395 BA, 16 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, and 39 RBI
Clemens' July offensive numbers were by far the best in the entire Houston organization, let alone Lancaster.
