September Call-up... Wilton Lopez?

It's a long shot, but Corpus Christi right-hander Wilton Lopez is making a push for a September call-up. In four August starts Lopez, who the Astros claimed off waivers from San Diego in April, has the following line: 29 2/3 IP, 14 hits, 3 runs, two earned runs, four walks and 18 Ks. Lopez likely has two more starts before the September 1 roster expansion. He is on the 40-man roster, which is to his advantage, when it comes to a call-up. However, one good month might not be enough to overcome four poor ones. He entered August with a 6.48 ERA in 73 2/3 IP(his ERA has dropped to 4.79).
