Monday is the deadline for the Astros to sign draft picks from the 2009 draft. The team has signed 36 of 51 picks to this point, including 25 of their top 26 picks. I have read in several locations that the team is hopeful of signing one or two more picks before the deadline.
The signing deadline also marks a mere three weeks until the end of the regular season in the minor leagues. The Dominican Summer League comes to a close first with games ending this Friday, August 21.
