All I have to go on is Thursday night's game recap, but I can't help but wonder if T.J. Steele is injured again. Steele has been in and out of the lineup since being drafted last summer out of the University of Arizona. In the top of the fifth inning of Thursday's game at Lake Elsinore the outfielder grounded out. However, in the bottom of the fifth, Steele was replaced in the outfield by Andrew Simunic.
Meanwhile starting pitcher Chris Salamida didn't need any replacement, as he pitched the first complete game of his pro career. The left-hander has bounced back and forth between the starting rotation and the bullpen since being drafted in 2006. On Thursday night against the Storm, he gave up a single and a home run after one out in the first. For the next 8 2/3 innings, he allowed only two hits, two walks and hit a batter as no Lake Elsinore advanced past second base.
