Grab the Bull by the Horns

THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG: I'll admit it. I'm a Neil Diamond fan, and I got my inspirational juices flowing for this Texans-themed song while listening to his song I Am, I Said.

This song includes the line "Did you ever hear the story about a frog who became a prince and then became one", which was notably quoted by Wade Phillips a few years back when he was named the coach of the Cowboys. Given the fact that Phillips is now the Texans' defensive coordinator, I decided to listen to the song he quoted to see if it would get my synapses firing and the lyrics flowing for a Texan song. Most of the lyrics of this effort were written while driving and listening to Diamond.

I'm admitedly too much of a camp guitarist to ever have a song sound like a Neil Diamond piece, but in this case, he and, indirectly Wade Phillips, served as a muse for me.
