Coming soon to Whataburger Field

The Corpus Christi Hooks contingent is in Kissimmee at the moment taking in some Spring Training. Here's an educated guess at who new Hooks' manager Keith Bodie will be bringing back with him for opening day at Whataburger Field this season. The Hooks first game is April 5 vs. Northwest Arkansas.

Austin Wates, CF-Lancaster's most consistent hitter in 2011.
Adam Bailey, RF-Moved from Low A to AA in 2011.
Chris Wallace, C- U of H product returns to Corpus.
Jonathan Singleton, 1B- Could be the biggest part of the Hunter Pence trade.
Jonathan Meyer, 3B- Top 3B prospect not in big league camp.
Jacob Goebbert, LF- Ended 2011 in Oklahoma City.
Erik Castro, DH- Hit .259 with nine home runs for Lancaster in 77 games.
Jose Thompson, 2B- Batted over .300 for Lancaster in 2011.
Jonathan Villar, SS- Touted by many as the Astros shortstop of the future.

Jake Buchanan, SP-Farmstros Pitcher of the Year in 2011.

Hopefully Jose Thompson learned how to hit a baseball. He did poorly in AA. Had an AVG. of .115 in 52 AB'S. He looked out of his league against AA pitching.
