Carlos Correa had the best offensive day of his professional career Tuesday in Florida. The Astros' #1 pick in the 2012 draft belted his first home run as an Astro. He also had three singles, a walk and an RBI in seven plate appearances. Correa's performance came during a double-header sweep by the GCL Astros over the Cardinals' Gulf Coast League entry.
Correa raised his over-all batting average by 31 points on the day from (.180 to .211). Since returning from a groin injury that sidelined him for a little over a week, Correa is now 9 for 30 with with doubles, one home run and two RBI.
