2012 Farmstros Five- Week #17 (The Throwback Edition)

The Farmstros Offices are closed for a few days, so the Farmstros Five for the week is a throwback edition.  Following is the first Farmstros Five I ever selected for this blog. I posted it on April 9, 2008.  The players' ages listed are from 2008.

Rob Cosby, 27, IF, Corpus Christi. The infielder hit a home run with two outs in the ninth inning Monday sending the game into extra-inning and keeping the Hooks winning streak alive. Over-all, Cosby was 9/26 with two homeruns and 10 RBIs for the week.

Eli Iorg, 25, OF, Corpus Christi. The Hooks' new centerfielder doubled the pleasure of fans in South Texas this week. Iorg had walk-off RBI singles in two extra-inning victories for the Hooks, including one on opening night. Over-all, he was 8 for 23 with four RBIs.

Nick Moresi, 23, OF, Lexington. The outfielder hit a grand-slam on opening night to tie the Legends' game in the seventh inning.

Fernando Nieve, 25, RHP, Round Rock. The Express righthander looked sharp in his first start of the season. He pitched five innings and gave up just one hit, while striking out five. If he stays healthy, he may not be in Round Rock long.

Bud Norris, 23, RHP, Corpus Christi. The right-hander burst onto the Texas League scene with five shutout innings and eight strikeouts in his Whataburger Field debut.

NOTE: I will post the Farmstros Five for Week #18 on August 9.  That edition will focus on the performances of the Luhnow-stros, those players who have joined the organization during the time Jeff Luhnow has been the General Manager.
