The Farmstros Village voted George Springer the pre-season player of the year in a vote that ended Thursday night. Springer received 30 votes out of a total 71 cast. Springer, the Astros' first round pick in 2011, spent most of 2012 with Lancaster before being promoted to Corpus Christi.
Delino DeShields was the runner-up with 14 votes. Domingo Santana and Brian Blasik each garnered six votes.
